Thank you so much for your generous support, encouragement, and prayers for this benefit ride. It was very inspiring to know how the lives of families will be impacted as a result of the money raised for Tony’s Room Foundation.
Before we left, we were told that TRF has found its first recepient for a clean room.
Kevin is an 11-year-old boy in Texas
who was diagnosed with T-Cell Leukemia in March 2008. He is being treated by Medical City Dallas Children’s Hospital which is a founding partner to Tony’s Room Foundation. After a site visit to Kevin’s home this past weekend, Tony’s Room Foundation will be arranging for a UV-filtration system to be installed in Kevin’s home so that he and his family can live in as germ-free an environment as possible. Tony’s Room will also begin the process in the coming months to help take down a mold-infested addition to the family home and replace it with a clean and comfortable living area for Kevin to enjoy and relax in as he recuperates and recovers from his chemotherapy treatments. Your support for Tony’s Room Foundation will help make all this possible for Kevin and his family.
Tony’s Room Foundation is needing $25,000 to make this a reality. If you didn’t get a chance to pledge for each mile, your gifts are still welcomed and needed. MAke your check out to Tony’s Room Foundation and mail them to me:

This upcoming weekend, I will be participating in the Nashville Music City Half Marathan. The Music City Marathon benefits the Leukemia Society and I will be running in memory of Tony Nata III, who passed away last June, at age 8 after courageously fighting this cancer.
After the 13 mile half marathon, I will be part of Team N2N (Nashville to Natchez) 444 mile bike ride the entire length of the Natchez Trace. My inspiration for doing this is little Tony Nata and his family. [

I had the privilege of meeting the Nata family and helping them rebuild their house in Sldell, La after Hurricane Katrina. We helped build Tony a “clean room” addition to the Nata house, which was needed as a sterile place for him after coming home from his bone marrow transplant. I have never seen such courage as I saw in this family. Their courage in fighting this deadly

disease together inspires me to this day. One of the blessings of this time was meeting Jeff Parness, who started the New York Says Thank You Foundation as a way for the Fire Fighters of New York to pay it forward. Those Firefighters were the first to come to Slidell and build little Tony a fishing pier because fishing was his favorite past time. Jeff has started the Tony’s Room Foundation in order to continue to build “clean rooms” for leukemia patients.
Please consider donating to this worthy cause. I invite you to read about Tony’s Room Foundation and the New York Says Thank You Foundation. If you feel led to give, please review the
Team N2N file attached. Various pledge amounts per mile are listed and any gift will help make this dream a reality.
Thanks for your consideration,
