Let me thank each of you that helped make the “Riding with a Mission” Blue Ridge Parkway bike ride benefitting Global Connections (www.globalconnectionsonline.org), a huge success. The 469 mile Blue Ridge Parkway was by far the most grueling physical thing I have ever done. We climbed over 50,000 feet over the course of the Parkway. One climb was 13 miles straight up. But the inspiration came as we knew each additional mile meant more people were going to be helped as a result of your generous pledges. Thank you so much for your per mile pledges, but more importantly for having a heart for missions.

Over $15,000 was raised as a result of your generous gift. Every penny of this will go towards meeting the needs of the kids and families of Kenya. Please refer to the following link to see the specific needs that your have made possible to be met. http://globalconnectionsonline.org/2010-riding-with-a-mission

I want to also use this as an opportunity to say thanks to a number of others. First of all, I thank God for allowing all of us to participate in His work in being the hands and feet of Christ. I want to thank my family who is always so incredibly supportive of these endeavors. It could not ahppen without their loving support. Thank you Kimberly, Peyton, and Bowen. Thanks to the funnest bunch of guys for another great and rewarding trip of a lifetime. Fellow riders were Stu “Blind Ray” Harmon, Dr. Charlie “Pooh” Pound, Dr, Joel “McGyver” Herring, Dr. Jim “Bootie” Brown, Tim “Conrad” Threadgill, and Sam “Colonel” Hubbard. Thanks to all the guy’s “She-Bosses” for all their loving support of their husbands, families, and our shenanigans. Huge thanks to sag wag drivers Barry Vickery and Captain Harold. Thanks to our friends at Newks for keeping us energized with great food and snacks and thanks to our friends at Indian Cycle and Bike Rack for their great support.

Thanks and God bless,

Scot “Big Racer” Thigpen
